Sri Sathya Sai in Kodaikanal - 2003 (A Photo Feature)

After a gap of 4 years, Bhagavan visited Kodaikanal between 11th and 20th May 2003. He was accompanied by a group of Institute staff, students and devotees.

Bhagavan flew from Bangalore to Madurai in a chartered flight. He blessed the assembled devotees in Ananda Nilayam at Madurai and then proceeded by car to Kodaikanal with His entourage. Here is a video of the flight journey.
He reached His residence - Sai Shruti in Kodaikanal at 8 pm. A mammoth gathering welcomed Bhagavan at Sai Shruti. The devotees were blessed with Bhagavan’s Darshan at Sai Shruti on all the days of His stay, both in the morning and evening.  

The entourage of Bhagavan had glimpses of His Divinity during their stay with Him inside Sai Sruthi.

He materialised a small statue of Buddha that was made from the original clay of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, on 13th evening. Commenting on this intricately carved marvel, He explained the importance of ‘Chakras’ (energy centres) located in the human body.

On the next evening, He materialised the gem stone which adorned Mother Sita. He linked the Mani and the significance of the Manipooraka Chakra among the human energy centers.

He materialised many other gifts for the entourage including a bracelet and a Navaratnamala.

Stories from Ramayana, Mahabharata and incidents from His own childhood, formed the topics for Bhagavan’s intimate talks. He spoke at length about the women characters of the Ramayana - Sumitra, Urmila and others and narrated many hitherto unknown instances from the Ramayana. From the Mahabharata, He narrated the glorious character of Draupadi, her chastity, forbearance and sense of forgiveness with respect to Aswatthama. On another day, He narrated His childhood experiences at school, with His classmates, His family members and the devotees of the early days at Puttaparthi who recognised His Divinity.
Interacting with students at the hill top bungalow - May 17, 2003
On May 17th, He took the entourage - staff, students and devotees to the Hilltop bungalow for a lunch session and blessed them with interactions in that vintage location surrounded by peaks and clouds...
Delivering the Divine Discourse in Sai Sruthi - May 18, 2003
Bhagavan delivered a Discourse to the devotees at Sai Sruthi on 18th May.

On the evening of May 19th, He blessed the entourage with Group photos in the Sai Sruthi Mandir.

He left Kodaikanal for Coimbatore on 20th morning. He blessed the devotees at Coimbatore with His Darshan and emplaned for Bangalore in the afternoon.

He was welcomed at Brindavan by the Institute staff and students at 3.50 pm.

  1. Sairam -- Love reading every bit of this blogspot. But I would love it more if you can also share what he shared about the chakras, what exactly he spoke about urmila and sumitra, what did he spoke about his childhood. Right now there are no links or detail stories that are otherwise unknown as a collection, this is a good place to insert those links. I understand it is not be possible with so much miracles everyday but nevertheless while reading such articles like this one, those inbetween missing things could be more complete if you could provide details on exactly what Swami spoke. -- Sairam
