Sri Sathya Sai at the entrance of Trayee Brindavan

When students entered Trayee at 4.25 pm, Swami had already come to the central hall. Swami came near the Jhoola, and asked the boys…

Swami : Where is your mango? (After afternoon Bhajans, mango Prasadam had been distributed to all.) Didn’t you get? (Seeing everyone) You all didn’t get? (One of the students got up to tell Swami.) Sit and tell. Where is your mango? (To Brindavan Warden) Did you eat all the mangoes? Didn’t you give the students?

B. Warden : They have been kept separately.

Swami : (To a student) Who is Narahari? How is he related to Tulsidas?
(The student didn’t reply. A teacher replied that he was the Guru of Tulsidas.) Narahari was the Guru of Tulsidas. Who was Ramabrahmam?

Teacher : Swami, father.

Swami : Ramabrahmam was father of Tulsidas. (Turning to Dr. Alreja, Superintendent of Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Prasanthi Nilayam) Alreja, Kab Aaya? Bombay Kaisa Hai? Bombay? Mumbai? Theek Nahi.Sara Dirty. (Alreja, when did you come? How is Bombay? Is it Bombay or Mumbai? It is not good. Everything is dirty.) (To a student) Are you from Bombay?

Student : Yes, Swami.

Swami asked the same question to few more students.

Swami : (Jokingly) Bombay boys are also dirty! (To a student) Are you from Bombay or London? London and Bombay are same! (To Sri Bhagia) What are the different types of leaders?

Sri Bhagia : Leadership by conscious, leadership by conscience and leadership by consciousness.

Swami : Morning, what did Bose tell? (There was a talk in the morning for the M.B.A. students by Mr. Bose.) M.B.A. boys, what did he tell?

Student : He told that integrity was important.

Swami : What is integrity?

Student : Unity of thought, word and deed.

Swami : Not constant integration, ordinary integrity. What are the three types of leadership?

Student : Leadership by conscious, conscience and consciousness.

Swami : What did Bose tell?

Student : He spoke about traits like father to son.

Swami : Father to son, son to grandson. What about grandfather? What is Rama’s father’s name?

Student : Dasharatha.

Swami : Dasharatha’s father?

Student : Aja.

Swami : Aja’s father? (No reply.) Raghu. Raghu Maharaj. His father?

Student : Dileepa.

Swami : His father?

Student : Ikshvaku.

Swami : What? (Smiling) Dileepa’s father is Khatvanga!

Warden : He is telling Ikshvaku.

Swami : Chi… Chi… Rama’s sons’ names?

Student : Lava, Kusa.

Swami : Kusa’s son’s name? (No Answer.) Aditi and Nishada. (To Dr. Narendra Reddy) Emi Reddy? What was Kaka Dixit’s name?

Dr. Reddy : Mahadev Dixit.

Swami : Kaka means grandfather. All called him ‘Kakaji’, so he became Kaka Dixit. He built buildings in Shirdi. First time when Kaka went to Shirdi, Baba called him ‘Shaitaan’ (demon). Baba used to always address devotees like ‘Jao Shaitaan’ (Go demon). Now (referring to Himself), it is ‘Jao Dunnapotha’. Earlier it used to be ‘Shaitaan’, now it is ‘Dunnapotha’. Baba used to even hit people with stones.

B. Warden : Why did He do that?

Swami : Those times, there used to be Hindu-Muslim problems. Once, Nana was slapped by Baba. Not a soft one, but a tight slap. (Swami then turned to General Mahadevan, a senior devotee from Chennai) Emi Military, how are you?

General : Fine, by Swami’s grace.

Swami : (In Tamil) What is the meaning of Dunnapotha?

General : She-buffalo.

Swami : Not she, he-buffalo. She is ‘Enumu’, he is ‘Dunnapotha’
The General then spoke. When he mentioned about an operation for his grand-daughter, Swami said that she was just a five hours baby at that time.

After his speech, Swami got up and Aarti was offered at 5.20 pm. Swami gave Prasadam trays to the students and blessed all from the balcony of the first floor before retiring for the day.
