Celebrations Galore at Brindavan - June 2005

A series of cultural and musical presentations were offered to Bhagavan by the students of the Brindavan Campus. These programmes were held in Sai Ramesh Hall between 4th to 17th June 2005, at Brindavan. 

The first presentation started with the Akhanda Bhajan for 24 hours, on 4th June in the afternoon and concluded on 5th afternoon. The second presentation on 7th June was an informative and educative programme on Vedas and their significance in the present day modern living. Bhagavan blessed the gathering with His Discourse. 

The annual day celebrations of ‘Sai Darshan’, was held at Brindavan on 8th June 2005. On 8th morning, in Sai Ramesh Hall, 111 Archaka and Purohit couples were felicitated. They were given many gifts by Bhagavan. The children from Sai Darshan Samiti, Bangalore, enacted a drama in the Kalyana Mandapam. Bhagavan blessed the children and had photographs taken with them. 

On 10th June, an interesting programme entitled ‘Kavyanjali’ was presented. The students recited poems in many different languages. Bhagavan presented them with shawls and other gifts. A programe delineating the meaning and significance of the Gayatri Mantra, entitled ‘Gayatri Vijaya,’ was presented on 11th June. A mass Upanayanam for 500 boys was held in Sai Ramesh Hall at 4.25 pm on 12th June, organised  by the Karnataka Sai Organisation, as part of Bhagavan’s 80th Birthday celebrations.

The Institute students presented a quiz programme based on the life and teachings of Sathya Sai, Shirdi Sai, Ramayana and Mahabharata on 15th afternoon. The Hindustani classical singer Sri Falguni Mitra and party presented a devotional music programme on 16th afternoon. Bhagavan gifted clothes to them and had photographs taken with them.

On 17th afternoon at 4 pm, the Institute students presented a very interesting programme on ‘Suryopasana’ and demonstrated various Yogic postures. They enacted two episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana and Mahabharata. Sri Sanjay Sahni gave a brief speech. The 14 day programme concluded with Mangala Arati.
