When Sri Sathya Sai visited Hyderabad and Bombay - March 1968

Swami reached Hyderabad on 7th March, 1968 and granted Darshan to a large gathering at Vidya Nagar. Swami inaugurated the Akhanda Bhajan at the community hall in Vigyanapuri on the 9th. He blessed the devotees with His Darshan again at the conclusion of the Bhajan on 10th morning. Swami blessed the Bhajan session at Sriniket on 10th evening and delivered a Discourse to the devotees.

Swami flew to Bombay on the 11th March. He visited Dharmakshetra which was still under construction. He met the Seva Dal and also conferred with the members of the Reception Committee of the World Conference of Sathya Sai Sangams and Sadhaks.

He returned to Hyderabad on the 14th, and gave Darshan to the devotees at Vidyanagar. He also visited the Punjagutta Officers colony and inaugurated the Bala Bhajan Mandali there. Swami inaugurated another Bhajan Mandali at Domalguda on the 15th and delivered a Discourse. Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao, Minister of Andhra Pradesh Government, presided over the function. Prof. D. Venkatavadhani gave a speech. Swami addressed a public meeting at the Homeopathic Medical college on the 16th. Sri Thota Ramaswamy, Mininster for Panchayat Raj, Andhra Pradesh Government, presided over the function. Sri T. V. Raghavulu, Minister for Education, Andhra Pradesh Government, spoke at this function. Swami inaugurated the Bhajan Mandalis at Aliyabad and Vidyanagar Centers. Swami addressed a mammoth public meeting at the Mahaboob College grounds on the 17th. He also inaugurated the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Dal and addressed them on the same day. Swami laid the foundation stone for the Sathya Sai Nilayam at East Amberpet, Hyderabad on 18th March. Sri V. K. Rao, the President of the Akhila Bharatha Prashanti Vidwan Maha Sabha (Hyderabad branch), and Sri E. V. S. Desikachari, President of Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, Hyderabad, spoke on this occasion. Swami guided over 300 Seva Dals that evening on how to practise Dhyana. He stated that it is an essential Sadhana for all Sevaks. Swami addressed another public meeting on the 19th at the Sathya Sai Nilayam site. Prof. D. Venkatavadhani spoke on Bhagawata Mahima. Swami left for Bangalore on the 20th.
